This is a dodo bird. It was close to todays pigeons. It was stuck on an island(it was flightless) and was hunted to extinction. The expression 'going the way of the dodo' means to become extinct.
they really got stuck on an island and got hunted? who would hunt a dodo bird, for the fun or for the meat. ether way they did't deserve to be hunted i mean what did they do to the hunters. stupid hunters why do they have the weappons and the dodo birds are the targets probaly because they were helpless.
